- Katie is a third generation graduate from her alma mater and credits her parents and grandparents for turning her into a college sports fan at an early age.
- She also loves to travel with her husband and two children. Favorite destinations include the Greek Isles, Yosemite National Park, and Portugal.
A certified public accountant and partner with the firm, Katie has 15 years of experience providing accounting and consulting services to privately held businesses, nonprofit organizations and higher education institutions (including collegiate athletics departments) nationwide. She is the firm’s partner-in-charge of the Assurance Services team, where she is responsible for quality control and compliance with accounting and auditing standards, laws and regulations, as well as the development of internal processes and training courses.
Katie also leads the firm’s Collegiate Athletics Services and Employee Benefit Plan Services teams, and she spends a majority of her time serving clients subject to National Collegiate Athletic Association (NCAA) and Department of Labor (DOL) regulations. She also has extensive experience auditing alternative investments and inventory, and her knowledge in these areas makes her a valued resource to clients served by our Higher Education Services and Manufacturing Services teams.
Katie has a passion for providing assistance beyond traditional accounting services. As such, she oversees the firm’s Business Advisory, Human Resources and Corporate Training service lines, managing the day-to-day operations and customizing solutions for our clients. Certified in Lean Six Sigma, she helps organizations improve their operations and grow their bottom line by redirecting their resources to the things that matter most. In addition to writing and speaking on the subject, she works directly with clients to efficiently navigate change and growth by evaluating existing processes and identifying solutions that work for them. Katie is also a founder of Lead North Central Florida, an executive leadership development program that gives participants the knowledge and tools they need to take their organizations to the next level.
Katie is a member of the College Athletic Business Management Association (CABMA) and the National Association of College and University Business Officers (NACUBO), and she serves on the board of The Greater Gainesville Region Chamber Advanced Manufacturing Council (CAMC). She is a peer reviewer for the American Institute of Certified Public Accountants (AICPA) and has received recognition from the Florida Institute of Certified Public Accountants (FICPA) as FICPA’s 26 under 36 in 2015 and a Women to Watch Awards Finalist in 2017.
