Partner Ken Kurdziel, CPA, was quoted in an article by the Journal of Accountancy. The piece focuses on name, image, and likeness (NIL) collectives and their tax classification status. According to a recent memo from the IRS, many NIL collectives will no longer be considered tax-exempt organizations. As a result, donations to NIL collectives may not be tax-deductible to the donors. In the article, Ken states how he expects historical donations to be viewed following a change in the collective’s tax-exempt status.
Ken serves as the partner-in-charge of James Moore’s Gainesville office and is a key member of the firm’s Higher Education Services Team. As a noted thought leader in the industry, Ken does a great deal of work with university-related entities such as foundations, athletic associations and booster organizations.
