- Rebeca was born and raised in Costa Rica and moved to the United States in 2006.
- She is a trained chef, having gone to culinary school before pursuing an accounting career.
- Rebeca is an avid CrossFitter and weightlifter and played soccer for many years. She enjoys friendly competition in these sports with her kids, Simon and Camila, and her husband, Scott.
As a manager in the Accounting and Controllership department, Rebeca wears many hats. She oversees a variety of client accounts, serves as the in-house payroll specialist in charge of all client quarterly payroll returns and year-end taxes, and is considered a QuickBooks specialist.
Rebeca’s deep knowledge of payroll laws, regulations and tax treatments is supplemented by the breadth of her client portfolio. Her experience spans the government, construction, environmental, healthcare and higher education industries, among others. She played a key role in helping the growth of an emerging technical university as it went from a 30-employee payroll engagement to a nearly-300 employee payroll accompanied by retirement plans and benefits.
Outside of the firm, Rebeca is an active volunteer with and advocate for the Cystic Fibrosis Foundation.
