It’s time to update your workplace posters. On January 1, 2019, the following minimum wage increases will take effect in Florida:

  • Florida’s regular minimum wage increases to $8.46/hour (formerly $8.25/hour).
  • Florida’s tipped employee minimum wage increases to $5.44/hour (formerly $5.23),
  • The Federal Contractor Minimum Wage increases to $10.60/hour (formerly $10.35/hour).
  • A minimum wage for tipped employees of federal contractors increases to $7.40/hour (formerly $7.25/hour).

State and federal laws require that all employers with at least one employee display mandatory federal, state and OSHA postings such as the minimum wage. Noncompliance can result in citations or even fines that can go as high as $17,000, so it’s important to keep up with these changes.

Our HR Solutions Team can update you on minimum wage increase developments. We’ll also advise you on how to secure these workplace posters, where to display them and other steps you need to take to remain in compliance. Additionally, we can review your current employee wages to make sure you’re up to date (and advise you of any adjustments you have to make).
