Human Resources Senior Consultant

The Human Resources Senior Consultant is a full-time position whose primary responsibilities are to serve as a subject matter expert for clients on human resources related matters including performance management, employment policies, compliance, workplace issues and positive employee engagement. In addition this position supports the internal human resource needs of the firm by overseeing talent acquisition and retention and serves as a true HR Generalist involved in all facets of human resources including compensation and benefits, training and workforce planning, employee relations, and regulatory compliance.

Responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Provide expert advice to clients on a wide range of human resource topics including the formulation and administration of plans and policies for their human resource activities. Serve as clients’ outsourced HR department depending on the client engagement but may range from periodic questions and review to day-to-day HR management and administration.
  • Counsels and advises clients regarding complex HR-related issues including employee performance and behavior, hiring, termination actions, compliance and benefits.
  • Develops and presents training sessions and seminars on HR related topics such as management training, harassment training, performance management training, etc.
  • Develops HR metrics and analytics including trends, tracking HR objectives and progress.
  • Takes a leadership role for all stages of the recruiting and onboarding process for the firm including supervision of the Firm HR Recruiter.
  • Develops and manages a comprehensive and aggressive college recruiting plan to create a pipeline of talent from the universities the firm targets.
  • Serves as a backup resource for the Firm HR Manager both for external and internal clients.
  • Performs HR-related duties and assignments on a professional level and works closely with the Firm HR Manager in supporting the firm offices and clients.
  • Participates in various meetings, planning groups, etc. to move the firm’s objectives forward.
  • Completes special projects and assists the Firm HR Manager as needed.

Desired Skills and Experience

The position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Human Resource or related field as well as a minimum 5-7 years of experience in Human Resources in a professional environment. SHRM-SCP or SPHR certification preferred.

Additional qualifications and requirements include:

  • Candidate must have a wealth of experience in every facet of human resources including; recruiting, benefits and compensation administration, employee relations and regulatory compliance
  • Experience working across multiple disciplines in HR with current knowledge of best practices as well as federal, state and local laws and states that govern employment practices.
  • Adept in Microsoft Office and HRIS systems, with advanced knowledge in Excel.
  • Experience developing content and materials for training, presentations as well as marketing and promotional pieces for us in recruiting.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills: concise, articulate and confident.
  • Customer focused (internal and external clients) with the ability to respond with a sense of urgency.
  • Experience in confidentiality processes and procedures.
  • Able to thrive in fast-paced work environment with multiple and sometimes contending priorities.

Tax Manager

The Tax Manager is responsible for planning and managing all phases of client projects under the direction of, and in consultation with, Senior Managers and Partners, in an effort to ensure that quality service is provided in a timely, responsive and efficient manner. The Tax Manager will perform advanced level services for clients, as well as for areas within the Firm, while demonstrating a high level of professionalism and enhancing the Firm’s image. This role is responsible for supervising, reviewing, training and evaluating employees at the intern, staff and senior levels. Additionally, the Tax Manager will research complex technical questions and play a significant role in the business Development of the Firm.

This position requires a Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, or related discipline plus as well as 5-7 years of comprehensive tax experience in a public accounting firm. CPA or CPA candidate preferred.  The ideal candidate will be a team player who has a desire to expand their accounting knowledge.

Staff Accountant

This position is responsible for performing basic accounting processes on a variety of engagements, including: audits, reviews and compilations of financial statements for a variety of industries. Also responsible for preparing federal, state, county and local income tax returns for both businesses and individuals, under supervision of more experienced personnel. The successful candidate must be reliable and able to work in a fast-paced environment.

The Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Record transactions; prepare trial balances and simple financial statements
- Prepare tax returns and work papers accurately and efficiently
- Perform audit or review procedures as assigned by supervisors
- Display general understanding and knowledge of applicable tax laws and rules
- Exhibit familiarity with the pronouncements of the FASB, AICPA and GASB
- Understand basic rules, regulations and code of ethics of the AICPA
- Comprehend pertinent IRC sections and regulations

Full-Charge Bookkeeper

This position is responsible for completing client recordkeeping responsibilities, to include manual bank reconciliation, as well as correcting errors to include adjusting journal entries and month-end close documents. The ideal candidate will have knowledge of the natural flow of account balances, financial statements, balance sheet and statement of income/loss, as well as knowledge of the principles of asset capitalization and depreciation and the accounting differences specific to different legal entities.

The Essential Job Functions include, but are not limited to:
- Generation of timely and accurate monthly financial statements
- Process accounts payable, accounts receivable and payroll transactions to include monthly, quarterly and year-end reporting
- Assist tax and audit departments with compiling supporting documentation for financial statements
- Provide internal and external software consulting for database set-up, troubleshooting, and client training
- Respond to and resolve client bookkeeping and payroll questions and/or concerns
- Prepare sales tax and payroll tax returns
- Input extensive amount of data
- Ability to differentiate between cash, accrual, and other basis of accounting
-  Ability to promote teamwork and a cooperative work environment
- Ability to maintain client relationships with a dedication to outstanding client service

Qualifications & Requirements

Minimum three years experience as a full-charge bookkeeper or comparable experience in accounting processes with a strong knowledge of accounting software
Experience performing office and bookkeeping duties accurately and efficiently without supervision
Experience explaining accounting concepts and transactions to non-accountants
Proficient in the operation of office equipment and multiple computer programs
Effective time management skills and ability to multi-task and manage deadlines
Excellent written/oral communication and math skills; must exercise extreme attention to detail with strong interpersonal and organizational skills
Advanced proficiency with Word and Excel programs
Certified Payroll Professional (CPP) designation highly desired
